July (Ruby)

Ruby’s are precious, intensely, red gemstones belonging to the corundum mineral family. Colored by Chromium they are famous for their fiery hues and exceptional durability, they are traditionally given as the birthstone for July. The most important factor for a Ruby’s value is color, the finest stones display a vivid, pure red to slightly purplish red, often referred to as “pigeon blood red” .Unlike diamonds, completely flawless rubies are extremely rare. Natural inclusions (often called "silk") are common and can actually enhance the stone's velvety appearance or help prove its natural origin. Fine-quality rubies over 1 carat are exceedingly rare, and can fetch prices exceeding $1,000,000 per carat. Rubies and sapphires are actually the exact same mineral. Any gem-quality red corundum is a ruby, while all other colors are classified as sapphires. Beyond jewelry, synthetic rubies have practical applications in the real world. They are highly effective in lasers (used in everything from barcode scanners to surgery and watchmaking). Scoring a 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, rubies are second only to diamonds, making them exceptionally tough and ideal for everyday jewelry. Rubies primarily symbolize passion ,wealth ,power ,and protection known in Sanskrit as the "king of precious stones," this vibrant crimson gem has historically been treasured as a talisman to ward off evil and ensure good fortune.
