The ancient Egyptians used Garnet as an antidote for snake bite and food poisoning. Garnet was thought to have affinity with the blood. For this reason, some Asiatic tribes fashioned their bullets from Garnets. They theorized that the stones would travel immediately into the bloodstream, inflicting a more serious wound.
